In Das Sommerhaus, the head of a German middle-class family, Markus Larsen (Sten Jacobs), lives a secret, double life to satisfy his sexuality, while his wife, Christine (Anna Altmann), and their eleven-year-old daughter, Elisabeth (Nina Splettstößer), live an unhappy existence. However, all of their lives are soon changed forever when Markus becomes attracted to one Elisabeth’s school friends, Johannes (Jaspar Fuld).
