With the Brittle brothers dead, Schultz frees Django and presents him with a business offer. However, now that Django is a free man he must find and free his wife, Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), who is under the control of Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), a plantation owner. The bounty hunters eventually make their way to Candie’s plantation, Candyland, under the pretence that they wish to purchase a fighting slave. Once there, Django and Schultz quickly arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave.
