They use an outsider, Waingro (Kevin Gage), to help them hijack some bearer bonds from an armoured truck, but the job goings wrong when Waingro executes one of the guards. Lieutenant Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino), an obsessive detective, and his team are given the case and they soon discover who committed the heist and that they are going to be a tough crew to bring down.
