Col. Frank Slade (Al Pacino). It won’t be easy for Charlie, as Frank is blind, incredibly difficult to deal with, and a drunk. Frank needs a guide to help him execute his plan, which involves going to New York and committing suicide. When Charlie discovers this plan, he does everything he can to stop Frank. Frank also learns that Charlie has a problem at school and no one to support him. Together, they both change each others life for the better.
