During his assignment, Bond unravels a scheme to increase petroleum prices by triggering a nuclear meltdown in the waters of Istanbul. Renard also wants to bring down MI6 for a failed assassination attempt against him that left him with a bullet lodged in his brain. The injury means Renard cannot feel pain, making him a dangerous foe. Along the way, Bond meets Dr. Christmas Jones (Denise Richards), a nuclear weapons expert, who manages to blow Bond’s cover.
