The town sheriff, Little Bill Daggett (Gene Hackman), a former gunfighter, is strictly against this and will not allow guns or criminals in his town. Two groups of gunfighters, one led by a reformed killer, William Munny (Clint Eastwood), the other by a skilled gunfighter, English Bob (Richard Harris), come to town to claim the reward, but clash immediately with the sheriff, which ends with a brutal and fatal showdown between Munny and Daggett.
