However, the holiday goes wrong almost immediately when Clark hits the blackjack tables and starts blowing their holiday money, egged on by the croupier (Wallace Shawn). Meanwhile, Ellen Griswold (Beverly D’Angelo) becomes smitten with a lounge singer (Wayne Newton). Their son, Rusty (Ethan Embry), is virtually adopted by a family of gangsters, due to his skill with dice. Their daughter, Audrey (Marisol Nichols), hooks up with her wild cousin, Vickie (Shae D’lyn), who takes her on a tour of Vegas’ less salubrious night spots. The family also get in touch with Clark’s cousin, Eddie (Randy Quaid), who lives in the desert on a site previously used for testing nuclear weapons.
