His snooty daughter, Joan (Dale Evans), believes that her father is dead so she travels west, with the man she plans on marrying, to sell his ranch. John Barrabee takes a liking to Rogers and hires him to work his ranch so that he can remain in hiding. He also hopes that Rogers will be able to tame his citified daughter and dissuade her from marrying a man he doesn’t think is suitable for her.
