After escaping from a posse, the two find the teenager, Chip Williams (Mary Lee), who explains their innocence and has her sister Ysobel and her soon to be husband, Craig Allen (John Hubbard), give the pair jobs.
Chip inherits a supposedly worthless gold mine from her father and Allen is about to buy it. Chip tells Roy she is sure her late father had riches hidden away in the mine and that is the reason Allen wants it.
