Fed up with his boring, stagnant existence, he quits his job and reinvents himself as a marijuana smoking, responsibility shirking teenager. He has no interest in his wife, who happens to be having an affair anyway, so gives his attention to Jane’s school friend, Angela (Mena Suvari). He also builds a close relationship with his pot dealer, Ricky (Wes Bentley), who also happens to be his next door neighbour and his daughters boyfriends. Ricky’s abusive father, Colonel Fitts (Chris Cooper), becomes suspicious of their relationship and challenges both Ricky and Lester, resulting in dire consequences.
